Made it again to post it after I got some fresh paneer (Suvai) which was why I postponed making again. This time slight changes in method after I saw several other braised tofu recipe videos. This time I loved the texture a lot. So this is a super easy, simple paneer recipe. You can make it with tofu very well. Just make sure to season perfectly to suit your taste buds.
- 230 gm paneer fresh
- 1 onion
- 1 sprig Spring onion
- 2 tbsp oil
- 2 tsp sesame seeds
- 3 tbsp water
- 2 tsp soya sauce
- 1 tsp red chilli powder
- 1 tsp sesame oil
- 1/2 tsp sugar
- 1/2 tsp garlic minced
Slice paneer to thin slabs in square or rectangles. Gather other ingredients ready.
First prepare the sauce, by combining ingredients under ‘For sauce’ Set aside.
Heat a pan, toast sesame seeds until crisp, set aside.
Heat oil and place sliced paneer. Roast both sides in high flame until golden in colour.
Keep it immersed in hot water until use.
In the same oil (add more if needed), add sliced onion, bottom part of spring onion and sautee for a minute.
Pour in the sauce we prepared.
Add paneer drained from water. Mix to coat the paneer. Cook until the paneer absorbs and turns glossy.
Switch off stove and garnish with sesame seeds, finely chopped spring onion.
